Barbie WalkerTap dance, Motown, and the beat of a drummer-Barbie was made to be a dancer at this year's Gala. Born in Hillsboro, Illinois, Barbie attended Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois with a major in voice and minor in piano. Barbie and her husband Phil reside in Sheboygan where she previously owned a real estate appraisal firm. Her high school years were filled with productions, plays, orchestra and the dance band for which she was the drummer. Barbie and her husband are proud of their three grown sons, five grandsons and one granddaughter-and another on the way. Perhaps a future drum line? Barbie enjoys golf, tennis, sewing, knitting, playing the piano, and most of all, sharing good times with wonderful friends. Her past and present community involvement includes Sheboygan Service Club, Town & Country Garden Club, John Michael Kohler Arts Center, Safe Harbor, Festival of Trees, Sheboygan County Cancer Society, Sheboygan County Medical Auxiliary and others. Barbie is sponsored by Peter and Susan Bemis and has chosen the Salvation Army as the recipient of 50% of the proceeds raised through the purchase of extra votes on her behalf. She will be performing the swing with her dance partner, Ryan Wehr. |
