Deborah Wente
Deb is a runner, competing in five marathons, including the Boston marathon. She is also a doer, chairing the Gala for six years as a Lakeland College trustee and now stepping onto the floor as a celebrity dancer for the second time.
With a bachelor's degree in French and an MBA from the University of Chicago, Deb has been product manager at Kohler Co. and vice president and general manager of VPI's Sheet Products Division.
She is currently co-owner of a competitive dance studio, JD Xplosion All Star Dance Team and is an active community volunteer involved in Rotary, South High School and PSC, Partners Seeking a Cure. Her challenge last year was running 12 half-marathons. This year, it's successfully taking a two-minute all-star turn around the Gala dance floor. Both, according to Deb, take about the same amount of training. She's pleased to dance again for the benefit of Lakeland College and The Sheboygan Symphony, and she'll be in great shape when the music starts.
Deb is sponsored by the Grover Family Foundation, Inc. and has chosen PSC, Partners Seeking a Cure, as the recipient of 50% of the proceeds raised through the purchase of extra votes on her behalf.
She will be performing the east coast swing with her dance partner, Zeke Cribbs.
