2016 Movers & Shakers Gala

A record crowd of more than 650 people gathered for Lakeland College's ninth annual Movers & Shakers Gala on May 14 for a spectacular evening of dancing, multi-course gourmet food, fellowship and philanthropic fundraising.

This year's event, which benefited Lakeland College, marked the return of dancing as eight community leaders and their professional partners were showcased.

2015 Movers & Shakers Gala

More than 450 guests gathered at Lakeland College on May 14 for a spectacular evening of entertainment, multi-course gourmet food, fellowship and fundraising for scholarships.

The eighth annual Movers & Shakers Gala, was held on Saturday, May 16, at Lakeland College, introduced an entirely new format, and helped created new scholarships helping nine local high school students pay for their postsecondary education.

2014

Tracy Wusterbarth accepts 2014 Movers & Shakers Gala trophy

More than 500 guests gathered at Lakeland College on May 17 for a spectacular evening of dancing, multi-course gourmet food, fellowship and philanthropic fundraising.

The seventh annual Movers & Shakers Gala was the final time this popular community event offered an evening of dancing. Beginning next year, the Gala will feature a lineup of various talent acts.

2013

Wally Waldhart accepts 2013 Movers & Shakers Gala trophy

A record crowd of 740 guests enjoyed a spectacular night of celebrity dancing in an evening of fun and fundraising at the sixth annual Movers & Shakers Gala, a benefit for Lakeland College and the Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra, held May 18 at Lakeland.

This star-studded night featured an all-star lineup of seven well-known local celebrities who had danced in previous galas. The evening also featured special guests Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Chelsie Hightower from ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."

2012

Sheri Murphy accepts 2012 Movers & Shakers Gala trophy

A record crowd of more than 530 guests enjoyed a spectacular night of celebrity dancing in an evening of fun and fundraising at the fifth annual Movers & Shakers Gala, a benefit for Lakeland College and the Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra, held May 19, 2012 at Lakeland

Sheri Murphy won top honors for the night as her memorable version of the swing earned her the 2012 Movers & Shakers Gala Champion Trophy. Votes for Murphy, vice president of services and administration at ACUITY, also benefitted the Mead Public Library Foundation and Safe Harbor of Sheboygan.

2011

Dana Bemis accepts 2011 Movers & Shakers Gala trophy

A sold-out ballroom of more than 520 were wowed by a spectacular night of celebrity dancing in an evening of fun and fundraising at the fourth annual Movers & Shakers Gala, a benefit for Lakeland College and the Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra, held May 21 at Lakeland.

Dana Bemis won top honors for the night as her spirited version of the Latin medley earned her the Movers & Shakers Gala title for 2011. Votes for Bemis also benefited the Sheboygan County YMCA.

2010

Paula Gentine accepts 2010 Movers & Shakers Gala trophy

A sold-out ballroom of over 400 guests were wowed by a spectacular night of celebrity dancing in an evening of fun and fundraising at the third annual Movers & Shakers Gala, a benefit for Lakeland College and the Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra held May 22 at Lakeland.

Paula Gentine accepted the 2010 Movers & Shakers Gala title for her hot and spicy version of the salsa May 22 at Lakeland College. This star-studded night featured seven well-known celebrities in a glamorous setting complete with red-carpet glitz and gourmet cuisine. Lakeland's Todd Wehr Center was transformed into a beautiful ballroom, including a dance floor framed by wall-to-wall carpeting, a massive lighting setup and huge video screens that put a who's who of Sheboygan County in the spotlight.


2009

A sold-out ballroom of over 500 guests were wowed by a spectacular night of celebrity dancing at the second annual Movers & Shakers Gala, a benefit for Lakeland College and the Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra held May 30 at Lakeland.

This star-studded night featured nine well-known area celebrities in a glamorous setting complete with red-carpet glitz and gourmet cuisine. Lakeland College's Todd Wehr Center was once again transformed into a beautiful ballroom, including wall-to-wall carpeting, a massive lighting setup and huge video screens that let a who's who of Sheboygan County showcase their best moves.


2008

Michael Stayer-Suprick

A spectacular night of celebrity dancing highlighted the inaugural Movers & Shakers Gala, a benefit for Lakeland College and the Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra held May 31 at Lakeland.

Michael Stayer-Suprick danced the cha cha and took home the first title, topping a field that included some of Sheboygan County's biggest names. Stayer-Suprick is president of West Shore Industries, specializing in consumer displays and exhibits, and a veteran of service to non-profit organization boards throughout Sheboygan.
